INTRODUCTION TO SAILING:

FOR ADULTS AND TEENAGERS (12 years +)

We run introduction-to-sailing lessons on an as-requested basis on Sunday mornings from 10:00am - 12:30pm subject to weather conditions and instructor availability.

The lessons involve both onshore theory and on-the-water practical sailing instruction. Note that these are not private lessons and there may be other participants. However, when it comes to the practical sailing part of the lesson, you will most likely be in a boat on your own with an instructor.

PRICES: 

per lesson paid in advance

• Youth (under 18 years): $50
• Adults: $100
• Seniors(65 years and over): $75

DISCOUNTS AND MEMBERSHIP FEES: 

• Adults who are fulltime students, unemployed or retired may be entitled to a discount on the adult lesson fees. 
• Participants who decide to join the club will have their lesson fees deducted from their membership fees.

THINGS TO NOTE:

• Be aware that sailing can be very weather dependant and if the weather is unsuitable for sailing we may have to make other arrangements
• If you are unwell, please stay at home - we will provide refunds or catch up classes if necessary.
• Life jackets and sunscreen are available at the club. Life jackets are compulsary, sunscreen optional but recommended.

WHAT TO BRING:

• Lunch and drinks are available for purchase from our canteen or BYO
• Hat
• Rash shirt (long sleeved best to reduce sunburn)
• Sunscreen
• Towel
• Swimsuit
• Warm Jacket (fleece or wool preferrable to cotton as they don't hold the water as much) or spray jacket
• Extra DRY clothes to change into after getting wet
• Old sneakers or water shoes to wear in the boat (they will get wet)
• Wet suits are useful if you feel the cold
• A lanyard or sunglasses cord to keep your glasses on your head
